What is STEAM?

What is STEAM?
By Parent Marketing Group|

STEAM is the acronym for science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Our program integrates each of these topics into the early childhood classroom in a fun and interactive way. Learning Zone is one of the most cutting edge STEAM preschools in Murfreesboro, TN.

Research Based Programs

Research shows that success in learning is increased when the learner is at the center of the experience. It is extremely beneficial for children to be presented with multiple opportunities to explore the topics they are studying.

Let’s Look at an Example

For example, if you are teaching a simple math concept of counting to five, our education engineers would encourage the children to discover this concept in more than one part of their day. One example would be a written visual with the numerals as well as the words. Another would be exploring our construction zone and physically counting out the blocks.

Our education engineers might also integrate a science element by counting something in nature when the class travels outside. Learning is strengthened for our children when they see it come to life in more than one instance. It becomes a continuum of learning throughout the day.

We Make Learning a Hands-on Experience

This approach turns learning into a hands-on experience that not only grabs the attention of the children, but also strengthens their ability to retain the information. It’s what makes Learning Zone one of the top preschools Blackman TN has to offer. If you are interested in learning more about our preschool please request information here.

Young children learn best through play because it’s how they naturally explore, practice, and repeat skills without pressure. Play strengthens language, early thinking skills, creativity, and social development in a way that feels enjoyable instead of forced. The blog helps explain what meaningful play looks like, so you can recognize learning even when it looks like fun.
